Lem Payne Jr. is an American singer, songwriter and producer born and raised on Long Island, NY. Lem comes from a musical family, his mother a choir director, and father who was a winner at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, NY. He is younger brother to GRAMMY Award Winning Artist, Chrisette Michele, and has written on one of Chrisette’s albums (“Better”), which was nominated for a GRAMMY. They also put out a mixtape together titled “Love Thy Brother”, which lead to the brother-sister duo embarking on a national tour.
Lem plays several instruments, but mainly writes his songs on piano. His lyrical content touches on many different subjects. The emotions of his records can range from lighthearted love, all the way to fighting the inner demons of dark times in his past. He has a wide genre-range when it comes to his records. From Pop, to R&B and Hip-Hop, Lem leaves no stone unturned in the wake of his musical creations.
